What Is Abortion Reversal?
A chemical abortion requires that you take two medications. The first, mifepristone, blocks your body’s production of progesterone that is needed for a pregnancy to continue. The second medication, misoprostol, is usually taken 24-48 hours later and causes contractions so your body can expel the pregnancy.
The highest success rate is when you begin the reversal less than 24 hours after taking the first pill, but reversals have been successful up to 72 hours after the first pill was taken. Timing is so important. If you’re even considering reversing your abortion, call the hotline at 1-877-558-0333 immediately or for more information go to the APR website.
